An Andrea Walford CASE

Hi!

Today's card is a CASE of one made by Andrea Walford.  She makes the most stunning cards.  The only thing I changed was the colour of the base card.  The recipient of this card loves pink, so I used Pretty In Pink instead of the Pear Pizzazz Andrea used.

The main panel is stamped with the En Francais Background stamp in Whisper White craft ink.   It's such an elegant stamp and looks fantastic as a subtle accent.

I layered two of the Beautiful Wings butterflies and gave them rhinestone bodies.  Such a simple card, but I think it looks fab.

Stamps: En Francais BG
Ink: Whisper White Craft
Cardstock: Pretty In Pink, Basic Black
Other: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Basic Jewels Rhinestones

Sweet and Sour Flower

Hi!

I made this card because I wanted to try out a new flower making technique.  Well, it's not really a new technique, just new to me.

I bought a Flower Loom from Spotlight in the hope that I could use it to make flowers for my papercrafting.  Wool flowers didn't really work as they were too floppy.  I used some sliver cord for this flower and I was pretty happy about how it turned out.  The flower held it's shape nicely however it was quite bulky.

I added a large clear rhinestone brad to the centre of the flower for a little extra interest.

Stamps: Curly Cute
Ink: Rose Red
DSP/Cardstock: Sweet and Sour Speciality DSP, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie
Other: Flower Loom, Silver Cord, Rhinestone Brad, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

CASED Card

Hi!

Today's card was made way back when Sale-A-Bration was going strong.  I CASED it from the very talented Judy May, who I was finally able to meet in person at Convention recently.

I loved Judy's card so much I CASED it almost exactly!  It was my first go using the Silver Brushed Metallic Cardstock, which is just gorgeous.

It's such a fantastic design for a boy's card.  Judy is a very talented and inspiring card maker.

Stamps: Punch Bunch (2011 SAB), Classic Stars Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Real Red
DSP/Cardstock: Celebration DSP, Sliver Brushed Metallic, Real Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Other: Big Shot, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Silver Brads, Paper Snips, Scallop Square Punch, Dimensionals

One Of A Kind

Hi!

I was searching through some older photos and came across a few cards I haven't blogged yet.  This card I made for my sister for her birthday way back in March.  Sorry for the not so great photos, I think I was still using my old camera.

The card uses some rub ons for the image and sentiment - no stamping on this card!  The rub ons are long retired, but they are so pretty I couldn't leave them sitting on the shelf.

I cut the Top Note shape and then cut on oval out of the middle to create a frame for the main image.  A few rhinestones around the bottom of the frame to bling it up a little.

DSP/Cardstock: Love Letter DSP, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla
Other: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Rub Ons (I can't remember the name!)

I made the same card, just changed the colours around a bit.

Here they are together:

Ink: Rose Red, Certainly Celery, So Saffron
Cardstock: Rose Red, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Whisper White

My First Vintage Vogue Card

Hi!

I'm so excited to be back from Convention and stamping again.  My head is filled with so many ideas!  It's just a shame the body isn't quite so willing - I was in a little car accident last week that didn't seem like much at the time but I have injured my back and started physio today.  It all means I can't sit at my table for as long as I would like.  Hopefully the physio does the trick and I can get back into stamping for longer periods.

Anyway, here is the card I made after I returned from Convention. My first using Vintage Vogue, which was also my first time using Stampin Up's clear mount stamps.

I was quite pleased with how it turned out.  Here's a closer look at the flowers on the front:

I used Dazzling Diamonds on the centres - another first.  I received a tub of the glitter at Convention and am now wondering why I hadn't got some sooner!

I was totally inspired by the gorgeous cards of Teneale Williams at Convention, so I stamped the inside of the card too.  It's a lovely little surprise when the recipient opens the card.  I really should do it more often!

Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Well Scripted (retired)
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Other: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Paper Snips, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals, Stamp Positioner

Sigh...

Hi!

I have been finding this mess more and more lately, sometimes up to a dozen times a day:

And that was just a little mess!  Yes, Hudson has taken a liking to my stamp sets.  I have 29 sets within his reach and he likes to pull them off my shelf.  Sigh....

He particularly likes All In The Family, as all those little stamps make a lovely sound when the box is rattled.  So of course, he keeps pulling out the sets 'til he finds it.  Sigh...

Today I told him to 'put it back' and lo and behold - he did!  Well, he tried to.  He managed to put a couple of sets back on the shelf before getting bored with that game and crawling off.  So for the tenth time today I put all the stamps back myself.  Actually, I'd rather do it myself as I can be little anal with where my stamps go.

I can just imagine the jumble it's going to be by the time I get back from Convention.  I'm leaving Rob at home with the three kids and heading off to Melbourne for the next 5 days for Stampin' Up!'s Annual Convention.  I think I'm just going to have to forget about the mess being made at home and enjoy myself.

Please pop back over the next 5 days - I've scheduled some posts to show you the swaps I've made for the event.

Wonderful Mother

Hi!

Today I have another Mother's Day card to show you.  This one was made for my father-in-law to give to my mother-in-law on Mother's Day.  I decided to use the colour from the latest Inkspirations Challenge: Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Whisper White.  It's such a gorgeous colour combination!

I used DSP from the Subtles Patterns Stack for both the card front and the scrunched scallop flower.  It's such pretty patterned paper.

A few rhinestones as a finishing touch.  The sentiment Wonderful Mother is from the Well Scripted set from the Summer Mini catalogue.  I hope it reappears in the next IB&C as it is a fantastic sentiment set.

Stamps: Well Scripted (Summer Mini)
Ink: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
DSP/Cardstock: Subtles Patterns DSP Stack, Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Other: 1 3/4" Scallop Circle XL Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Certainly Celery Twill Ribbon (retired), Certainly Celery Flower Brad

Spiderman

Hi!

Today's card was made for another little boy who was turning 2.  His birthday party had a superhero theme, so I just had to make a superhero card.  After a quick google search I found lots of different places that provided inspiration for this card.

The face was an egg shape I cut, and the eyes were just a 3/4" square with 2 corners rounded and cut in half.  The webbing was hand drawn, as was the cityscape behind Spidey.  To define the eyes and the edge of the face a little better I edged them using my Basic Black Marker.  I just used the side of the brush tip to go around the edges.  It's a cleaner look than sponging and exactly the look I was after.

Ink: Basic Black Marker, White Signo Gel Pen
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black
Other: Paper Snips, Dimensionals

Elegant Soiree Sympathy Card

Hi!

I made this card on commission, sadly a sympathy card to be sent a family who had recently lost a loved one.  These are always the hardest cards to make!

I used the latest sketch at Stamping 411 as the basis for the card.  I haven't entered one of their challenges before, mostly as I've only just found their blog.  I was blog surfing while procrastinating on my Convention swaps!

Stamps: Punch Potpourri, Thoughts and Prayers, So Swirly Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Baja Breeze, Soft Suede
DSP/Cardstock: Elegant Soiree DSP, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla
Other: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, 1/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, Two Step Bird Punch, Sponge Daubers

Stamp A Memory May Challenge: summer fun

Hi!

Today I'm back with my layout for the new Stamp A Memory Challenge.  This month you have a gorgeous photo to inspire your scrapping.  Here's the photo:

Isn't she a cutie!  I took my inspiration from the colours in the photo.  I have had a photo sitting on my desk waiting to be scrapped since January.  The main colours in the inspiration photo - blue, pink and yellow - were basically the same as the colours in my photo so it fitted perfectly with the challenge!  Here's my layout:

My colours are probably slightly brighter than the ones in the inspiration photo!  I went with Temping Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Regal Rose and a splash of Tangerine Tango.

I used the Circle Circus bubble stamp to carry the water theme from the photo onto the page.  The Daffodil Delight pompom trim was a cute little feature too.  I used some floral paper from the Sweet Stitches DSP pack and the flowers from Cottage Garden to bring the floral pattern from the inspiration photo into the layout.

I can't wait to see how you are inspired this month!  Why don't you pop on over to Stamp A Memory to see what the other Design Team girls have come up with?

Stamps: Circle Circus, Cottage Garden
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango
DSP/Cardstock: Sweet Stitches DSP, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet Die, Lots Of Tags Sizzlits, Paper Snips, Sponge Daubers, Daffodil Delight Pompom Trim, Corner Rounder Punch, Scallop Border Punch

Hi!

Today's card was made using the sketch challenge at the Inkspirations Challenges blog.  It was a cute little sketch and I enjoyed putting the card together.

Ink: Peach Parfait
DSP/Cardstock: Hostess In Colour DSP Pack, Peach Parfait, Whisper White
Other:  1/2" Peach Parfait Stitched Poly Twill Ribbon, Sponge Dauber, Paper Snips, Dimensionals, 1 3/4" Circle XL Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch
